"after | words" beautifully illuminates the struggle faced by persons with aphasia, along with their community of family, friends, caretakers, medical, healing community, and the brilliant spirit which emerges to overcome and enhance their lives "after | words".
The mission of the "after | words" project is to use the film "after | words" to go beyond aphasia awareness, from a medical or therapeutic stance, in order to give a face and a voice to those touched by this condition. Our goal is to increase understanding, from child to elder, that aphasia is a disorder of language, not of intelligence or personality.
