Young Strokes: A Network for Survivors

from Vikki Hutton

For young stroke survivors, who have their whole life ahead of them, it can be especially difficult to adjust to life of sudden limitations. But in the internet era, social networking is helping to combat feelings of loneliness and frustration, gradually bridging the gap between the 38,000 people who will survive young stroke in the UK every year.

21-year-old Becky Beaumont is one of the biggest names in the young stroke community -- her blog about her recovery has received nearly a million hits since she suffered a stroke in 2011.

Josie Gray is from The Stroke Association, encouraging young survivors to share their story so they can connect and inspire in life after stroke.
